About The Position

The Alumni Relations Coordinator is part of a dynamic team that experiences lives transformed from active substance use disorders into active recovery starting from day one of admission through their treatment and beyond. RCA's Alumni Association seeks an individual to join our creative and compassionate team of professionals who engage patients and alumni daily and develop innovative initiatives to support individuals in their recovery journey. This exempt-level role requires strategic program planning, independent judgment, and leadership in developing and executing alumni engagement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience with 12-step facilitation is required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Certified Peer Recovery preferred; willingness to obtain certification within 1 year of hire date.
  • At least 1 year of experience in volunteer management, program administration, special events, or related field, ideally within addiction treatment.
  • A people person who enjoys connecting with others and seeing others succeed.
  • A team player willing to collaborate efforts to accomplish Alumni Association goals.
  • Ability to self-motivate and independently develop and implement strategic planning.
  • Possesses an ability to organize, motivate, and work with volunteers.
  • Able to manage a budget to meet team goals and maintain expense reports.
  • Well organized and able to prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously including event planning and project management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, social media, Zoom, and mobile app technology; ability to learn EMR Software, Salesforce, Canva, and Concur.
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to engage and work with cross-functional leadership, clinical and medical staff, digital health professionals, and a diverse group of patients and alumni.

Responsibilities

  • Introduces the Alumni Association to all individuals and families when they are at RCA for treatment.
  • Ensures all patients have consented to communications from the Alumni Association post discharge.
  • Engages with patients during inpatient and outpatient treatment by leading 12-step groups, activities, and facilitating engagement surveys.
  • Organizes events to form connections among alumni and continue connectivity between alumni and RCA.
  • Builds strong rapport with alumni through follow-up texts, emails, and social media.
  • Helps alumni reenter treatment in case of relapse and assists patients in their transition between levels of care.
  • Works with the Alumni Operations Manager to ensure communication to all alumni is accurate, well written, and timely.
  • Leads and hosts virtual and onsite alumni support meetings on a regular basis.
  • Helps create volunteer, mentoring, and service opportunities to increase alumni involvement.
  • Develops and implements strategic alumni engagement plans aligned with RCA's mission and enterprise program goals.
  • Analyzes engagement data and trends to identify opportunities for program enhancement and increased alumni participation.
  • Designs and evaluates program initiatives that support relapse prevention, recovery support, and long-term alumni connection.
  • Exercises independent judgment in decision-making related to alumni programming, event planning, communication strategies, and patient outreach.
  • Creates and manages annual programming calendars, ensuring initiatives are delivered on schedule and meet expected outcomes.
  • Determines appropriate follow-up approaches for alumni at risk of relapse and coordinates re-engagement pathways.
  • Assumes responsibility for budget planning and oversight for alumni activities, including cost control and vendor selection.
  • Develops and enforces standards and procedures for consistent alumni communication and engagement.
  • Selects, trains, and supervises volunteers, mentors, and peer leaders within the Alumni Program.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on alumni engagement and recovery support practices for the site and broader enterprise.
  • Collaborates with clinical and operational leadership to ensure alumni programming supports clinical pathways and organizational objectives.
  • Represents the Alumni Program in meetings, community partnerships, and professional recovery events.
  • Operates with a high degree of autonomy, prioritizing workflows, determining outreach strategies, and ensuring program goals are achieved without daily supervision.
  • Uses advanced professional knowledge of recovery support and 12-step facilitation to guide program design and alumni engagement practices.
  • Advises leadership on alumni engagement, program risks, and emerging community needs.
