About The Position

Operator will be required to set-up, operate, and to adjust machines and equipment in order to produce a good quality product. Examples of machines and equipment are, but not limited to, electric welder, coil feeder, jib crane, welding fixtures, and other departmental equipment. Will be required to set-up, operate, program, and trouble shoot (material handling, drilling, and welding) of other pieces of equipment in the welding process to achieve acceptable levels in productivity, and quality. Operator will need to know how to operate overhead crane, forklift, hand held grinder, and other department equipment. Responsible for welding steel and aluminum components to assemble structural forms.

Requirements

• Knowledge and technique of MIG welding.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Dependable with a good attendance record.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Experience with a handheld plasma cutter is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set-up, operate, and adjust machines and equipment to produce quality products.
• Set-up, operate, program, and troubleshoot equipment in the welding process.
• Operate overhead crane, forklift, hand held grinder, and other departmental equipment.
• Weld steel and aluminum components to assemble structural forms.
• Read and understand blueprints and weld assemblies to comply with engineering standards.
• Perform various other duties in the department, including operating other welding equipment and using various hand tools.
• Follow all safety precautions, process procedures, and supervisors' instructions.
