About The Position

Motis Manufacturing is looking to expand our manufacturing team. We need a full-time Welder at our new facility in Germantown, WI. Come and see what makes us a great place to work; apply today! This position is Weekend Shift from 6am - 6pm, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Motis Manufacturing Center has been manufacturing lightweight aluminum ramp systems for over 30 years. Using innovative designs and lightweight aluminum alloys, Motis Manufacturing Center has created a unique product assortment that enables our customers to solve loading, hauling or transportation challenges safely and at a reasonable cost. Our lightweight aluminum products are far superior to steel alternatives as they never rust, are light and easy to handle but are built-strong to never fail. Motis Manufacturing is looking for an Aluminum MIG (Metal Inert Gas) Welder. Candidate will specialize in joining pieces of aluminum together using MIG welding techniques.

Requirements

  • Be able to follow directions in a fast-paced environment while completing jobs in allotted time frames.
  • Have great communication skills and be detail oriented.
  • Strong ability to read and understand welding specifications, shop drawings, and blueprints.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding specifications to determine the appropriate welding techniques and materials required for the job.
  • Operating and maintaining welding equipment, including MIG welders, and other tools.
  • Setting up the MIG welding machine to the appropriate settings for the specific job.
  • Following established welding procedures to ensure that finished products meet quality and safety standards.
  • Inspecting completed welds for defects, such as cracks, voids, and other imperfections, and performing necessary repairs.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area, including keeping welding equipment in good condition and properly storing materials.
  • Communicating with supervisors and other team members to discuss project requirements, progress, and any issues that may arise.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment by following all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Adhering to project schedules and deadlines.
  • Continuously learning and improving welding skills and techniques.
  • Passing AWS qualification within first 90 days of hire.
