About The Position

Fabricate aluminum booms, cross members & tongue parts to support Final Assembly and Knock Down (KD) orders. Other part fabrication work includes spacer pipe and load guides, as well as the ability to package fabricated parts for KD loads.

Requirements

3+ years’ experience in an engineering documentation capacity in a manufacturing environment preferred.
General understanding of manufacturing processes.
Ability to read and understand drawings.
Ability to break a unit down into component parts and subassemblies.
Working understanding of ERP software, Epicor 10 is preferred.
Exposure to Solidworks and Solidworks PDM preferred.
High attention to detail.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
Ability to communicate professionally utilizing both verbal and written communications.
Ability to problem-solve quickly and effectively.
Ability to produce under pressure of timelines and customer demands
Associate degree in Business or Engineering Technology or 2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations. Proficiency in computers is required, particularly in Microsoft Office-based programs including Excel.
Ability to read and write and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must be willing to learn and practice continuous improvement techniques such as the 5S. Able to participate and lead in a team-oriented environment, willingness to assist and train others. Demonstrate safe behavior and support department/plant Safety goals in a continuous improvement process. Able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends before and after schedule as needed. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Must be proficient in the use of a multitude of machinery including but not limited to high speed drill presses, crane/hoist, belt sanders, chop saws, band saws, bending presses, hand tools and forklift.
Attention to detail and thoroughly checking measurements before cutting parts
Works well under pressure and can work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficient with the use of measuring devices such as tape measures, protractors, etc.
Ability to accurately read a blue print & interpret KD green sheets and job cards/travelers.
Must be adaptable to order changes with little to no notice
Ability to work with co-workers, Lead, Supervisor and office based Inventory Control personnel for prioritization of daily tasks.
Ability to prepare, package and label orders accurately for shipment.
Ability to pull raw materials with a forklift, including aluminum I-beam/tube, aluminum diamond plate, metal fenders and load guides is a plus
