About The Position

As an Extrusion Press Operator, you will be required to perform various tasks including running the press, die changes, and inspection. A key responsibility is visually monitoring parts for surface defects. Maintaining clean and safe work areas is also important. To qualify, candidates must be able to operate an aluminum extrusion press, accurately read and understand a tape measure, operate an overhead crane, use micrometers, lift up to 50 pounds, and read and understand shop orders.

  • Ability to read and understand shop orders
  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Must also pass a skills-based test.
  • Prior experience running an Aluminum Extrusion Press
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively; self-motivated; self-starter.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail oriented.
  • Must pass a company background check and drug screen.

  • Running the Extrusion Press
  • Inspecting parts
  • Monitoring and removing press scrap
  • Visual checks
  • Temperature monitoring
  • Must be able to read and understand a tape measure
  • Assist other personnel and perform other duties as required per supervisor.
  • Inform the Supervisor of any equipment problems or any other problems.
  • Work in a safe manner always wearing all required Proper Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free workstation.
  • Able to participate in a collaborative environment.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures.
  • Accepts feedback from the Team Captain to ensure the bundles meet safety standards.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
