About The Position

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Production Worker in our Greenville, PA location. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used in the casting of aluminum components. Duties include preparing molds, pouring molten aluminum, removing finished castings, performing quality checks, charging furnaces, running production saws, homogenization process, and ensuring safety procedures are followed throughout the production process. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a high-temperature, fast-paced industrial environment. Nights 7pm to 7am - 12 Hour shifts with rotating weekends. Pay ranges from $18.87 to $21.92 an hour to start, depending on role and is based on experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Heavy equipment and forklift operation are preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write simple reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
  • This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a high-temperature, fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available.
  • Regular attendance required.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans residual aluminum left over from the previous cast from the distribution pan, transfer nozzles mold assemblies and other spots around the casting unit.
  • Paints distribution pan, filter bowl and transfer troughs with a mixture of bone ash and water.
  • Sands and paints mold assemblies.
  • Preheats and dries trough, filter bowl and distribution pan until ready to start cast.
  • Aligns started blocks by ensuring spool is centered in mold.
  • Manually adjusts starter blocks as needed.
  • Ensures proper labeling of logs and billets with stamping unit, color codes and production tags.
  • Moves cut log and billet into appropriate storage area.
  • Loads and unloads logs into appropriate stacks prior to and after completion of homogenization.
  • Operates log saw cutting log or billet into appropriate lengths.
  • Operates homogenizing furnace. Roll logs from table to saw area.
  • Checks sharpness of saw blades on a regular basis.
  • Keeps a record of materials received and used.
  • Inspects incoming materials and verifies invoices.
  • Using forklift, loads log and billet onto trailers and unloads prime, dealer scrap and other materials received from outside suppliers.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
