About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the implementation of at-risk services including academic support, behavior modification, and other intervention strategies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Additional duties may be assigned. Implement at-risk program at assigned building and/or grade level. Maintain academic and attendance records for students. Utilize effective instructional techniques. Utilize effective behavioral management techniques. Develop and maintain behavior and transition plans as appropriate. Maintain effective communication with building administrator and/or staff concerning student progress. Establish and promote communication with parent(s) and/or guardian. Communicate student program information with Coordinator of Intervention Abide by all applicable Board policies. Assist in maintenance of the computer network. Assist in development of annual report on at-risk programs. Assist in the development of additional at-risk grants. Communicate facilities/technical/student issues with Coordinator of Intervention. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the District and self-selected professional growth activities. Identifies pupil needs in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems. Participate in curriculum and other developmental programs.

Requirements

  • Appropriate Missouri Teacher Certification or eligible for Provisional Certificate at appropriate grade levels.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Ability to use and teach mathematics commensurate with assigned position.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while complying with established policies and procedures of the building and district.
  • Identifies and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Ability to concentrate, think, read and learn is necessary to perform the essential job duties.
  • Must have a physical exam and TB test prior to first day of work at the employer’s expense.
  • Demonstrate organizational ability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide assistance to the school community as necessary.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent human relation skills.
  • Knowledge of office equipment (computers, copiers, fax machine, and related items).
