Job Description Alternative Investments Associates and Accountants are part of a collaborative team responsible for maintaining the general ledger and records for hedge funds and registered products of varying complexity. They also produce end-of-month net asset value (NAV) calculations. Prepare daily general ledger entries, prime broker and bank cash reconciliations, advisor and portfolio management processing, corporate action applications, expense accruals and payments, timely distribution of internal and external information, and portfolio reconciliations. Collaborate with internal and external administrators, transfer agencies, prime brokers, and custodians to ensure compliance with SEC regulations and adherence to GAAP principles across all fund accounting functions. Record trade activity, income and expense transactions, and apply security valuations within the portfolio accounting system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a business-related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Two to five years of related experience, preferably in portfolio/partnership accounting

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the general ledger and records for hedge funds and registered products of varying complexity
  • Produce end-of-month net asset value (NAV) calculations
  • Prepare daily general ledger entries, prime broker and bank cash reconciliations, advisor and portfolio management processing, corporate action applications, expense accruals and payments, timely distribution of internal and external information, and portfolio reconciliations
