About The Position

The Alternate Senior Center Operator 1 is under the direct supervision of the Nutrition Projects Director. In the absence of the Senior Center Operator 1, the Alternate Senior Center Operator 1 is responsible for planning and implementing programs and/or activities in the active adult center. In addition, the employee is responsible to ensure that the active adult center functions in a manner that promotes the well-being of each participant and the centers' programming is consistent with the policy of the Area Agency on Aging and the other appropriate state and local agencies. Some of the duties include maintaining nutrition records, recording volunteer hours and attendance in addition to scheduling center transportation. You will be expected to attend monthly meetings and various training programs. This position oversees the nutrition component of the center including monitoring health and sanitation regulations. You will have the opportunity to encourage program clients to participate in the recreational and instructional activities provided by the center. Requirements

  • Three months of experience in providing direct services in a human services, education or a community based setting to the aging population or to individuals from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds or to individuals who have physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
