Stanford University has an immediate opening for an Alternate Format & Assistive Technology Manager in the Office of Accessible Education (OAE). This position will be in the Division of Student Affairs, which supports many student experiences outside the classroom in our residences, community centers, student organizations, health center, career education center, and more. The mission of the Office of Accessible Education (OAE) is to promote an accessible environment for students with disabilities. Through both academic and housing accommodations, we work to mitigate physical and attitudinal barriers that students might face. We are dedicated to supporting students with disabilities, so they have access to perform at their academic potential. We also strive to promote the inclusive environment they need to experience full membership in our diverse Stanford community. The Alternate Format & Assistive Technology Manager leads the design, production, and delivery of accessible educational materials and assistive technology services to support students with disabilities. This role involves strategic planning and execution of complex remediation workflows, team leadership, and active collaboration with faculty, students, and university partners. The manager oversees staff performance, ensures adherence to accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, Braille), and integrates evolving technologies to remove access barriers in teaching and learning. Additionally, the role includes managing software and hardware for assistive technology, guiding cross-functional accessibility initiatives, and maintaining high standards of service through continual evaluation and innovation. This position reports to the OAE's director of technology.
