About The Position

The Alterations Specialist at CHANEL is responsible for producing high-quality altered merchandise while providing excellent customer service. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work with intricate materials. The specialist will maintain client relationships and collaborate with the boutique team to uphold CHANEL's production standards and ensure client satisfaction.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of alterations experience in a luxury retail environment preferred.
• Sound knowledge of various fabrics and sewing techniques.
• Ability to work under time constraints.
• Exceptional client service skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
• Minimum High School Diploma.
• Ability to lift 15 lb.

Nice To Haves

• Foreign language skills are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality altered merchandise within established time frame standards.
• Fit garments on clients and alter a wide range of garments as needed.
• Organize and maintain client-owned pieces according to CHANEL expectations.
• Interact with clients to provide styling and fitting advice.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of alteration techniques specific to CHANEL.
• Ensure sewing machines and other equipment are in proper working order.
• Build positive team relationships to inspire trust and teamwork.
• Alter or repair clients' garments, including hemming, mending, and adjusting seams.
• Label clients' garments and record the alterations required.
• Communicate with clients to determine their specifications and preferences.
