About The Position

As an Alteration & Installation Engineer for the Fire Control Program working COLUMBIA/Dreadnought and OHIO/Vanguard, youll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for researching and developing technical documentation used to install Tactical and Training Equipment on submarines and shore facilities. You'll also be responsible for participating in installation activities with a multi-functional team in both the US and UK. In your efforts, you'll be responsible for coordinating with many teams internally and externally to determine solutions for your assigned efforts.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree.
  • Proficiency with understanding of drawings and schematics
  • Understanding of software deployment schedules and dependencies
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
  • Command of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel and Power-Point
  • Creative thinker capable of evaluating a design and determining how best to install and test that design
  • Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Author alteration and test documentation to provide new capabilities to the submarine fleet and shore facilities
  • Coordinate inputs across multi-functionalgroups to ensure documentation is complete prior to submission
  • Work with multiplestakeholders to ensure timeliness of documentation submissions to customers for approval
  • Support and engage with programs with GDMS cultureand strategy, complying with policies and procedures
  • Self regulated work schedule with weekly statusing of development progress, issues and help needed
