About The Position

The Alpha Press Operator works under general direction within a framework or established procedures, is expected to perform a wide variety of skilled or semiskilled press room work. Judgment and initiative are required in making decisions in accordance with established guides.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Responsibilities

Sets up and operates press for pressing operations ensuring line clear procedure completed between grade changes.
Select proper tooling needed for job.
Interprets simple drawings, sketches and blueprints of job.
Performs entry level press room functions.
Loads and unloads work to the table by hand.
Select proper powder needed for pressing of products and record accurate information regarding weights.
Weighs and counts parts being pressed.
Accurately enters information related to the Press Department into the computer.
Maintains tooling by cleaning and handling properly.
Adjusts feed and speed of machine according to size of tooling and material of piece to be pressed.
Starts machine and operates various controls to perform required operation.
Checks dimensions of work using measuring tools, such as scales, calipers and gauges.
Performs routine maintenance and keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
Responsible for tools and fixtures used in work area.
Performs subordinate duties related to the Press Room Department.
Observes all health and safety regulations.
