Our Security Officers guard industrial or commercial property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing various duties. They follow all assigned post orders, both general and specific, and apply the use of force rules based on the situation, employing graduated use of force to ensure that only necessary force is used to subdue or detain individuals. Security Officers patrol periodically the buildings and grounds of industrial plants or commercial establishments, docks, logging camp areas, or work sites. They patrol lobbies, corridors, and public rooms, confer with management, interview guests and employees, and interrogate persons to detect infringements and investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalism, and accidents. Additionally, they patrol public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and missing or inoperative safety equipment. Security Officers examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure, perform and set thermostatic controls to maintain specified temperatures in buildings or cold storage rooms, and inspect equipment and machinery for signs of tampering. They also record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning machinery or equipment for supervisory staff. Officers watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked. They warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts. Furthermore, they notify staff of the presence of persons with questionable reputations, permit authorized persons, and regulate vehicle/pedestrian traffic at plant entrances to maintain an orderly flow. Security Officers drive radio-equipped vehicles through the client's establishment, check alarms, and locate sources of alarms. In case of fire or unauthorized persons, they sound alarms or call the police or fire department. They assist management and enforcement officers in emergency situations, contact supervisors to report irregularities, and write investigation and automobile usage reports.
