The Microprocessor Technician reports to the Engineering Services Leader and performs maintenance activity for plant electrical, instrument, HVAC, communications, weighing systems, and process control systems. Skills include knowledge of process equipment, electronics, electricity, computer logic, circuits, pneumatics, and mechanics. The Microprocessor follows prescribed safety procedures (Ref. SHMS 004).

  • Electrically troubleshoot all plant equipment.
  • Train CET's and continuously mentor CET's.
  • Assist CET's as needed. Assist in scheduling rotating CET positions and fill in for associates on vacation or out sick.
  • Maintain auxiliary equipment as assigned.
  • Identify and implement cost savings projects including repairing electronic equipment and finding alternate vendors for electronic equipment.
  • Manage the boards-repaired-by-vendor process.
  • 2 year electrical, electronics, or electro-mechanical degree from an accredited school or a demonstrated equivalent.
  • Possess excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Be able to read and understand P&ID and electrical drawings.
  • Ability to size conductors as well as install rigid or flexible conduit associated with field instrumentation installations.
  • Basic understanding of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and PLC's and the I/O's that interface with the field instrumentation.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and be capable of using industrial motorized equipment including lift trucks, boom lifts, etc.
  • Have a basic knowledge of industrial processes to include drive systems, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools typically found in carpet/non-woven- yarn production or a related industry.
  • Proven manufacturing experience typically developed through previous experience.
