About The Position

This is maintenance and personal services work in a remote recreational environment in the Penobscot River Corridor. Typical duties include resource protection, rule enforcement, campsite maintenance, collecting fees, repairing facilities as needed, monitoring public use, responding to incidents, and maintaining equipment and records. The person in this position will assist other PRC districts as needed. The person in this position will be trained and certified in Wilderness First Aid, chainsaw operation, and boat operation as a requirement of this position. The person in this position may supervise a small number of employees and volunteers. This person must be able to live and work independently in remote conditions and must be able to, safely and efficiently, operate a range of equipment including vehicles, motorboats, radio systems, canoes with and without motors, chainsaws, and other power and hand tools. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year experience in park maintenance and operation or equivalent.
  • Valid Class C Maine motor vehicle operator’s license.
  • Applicants must also be able to meet the required training and certification requirements within a timeframe determined by the supervisor based on training opportunities.
