The Advanced Technologies (AT) Strategic Business Unit Engineering Organization is currently hiring for a Senior Principle Mechanical Engineer located in Tucson, AZ. This position is to support an Advanced Hypersonic Weapon System program as the All Up Round (AUR) Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL). The AUR IPTL is responsible to provide leadership for all AUR Non-Recurring and Recurring tasks to ensure delivery of the system per program plan. This position will lead a multi-disciplinary team to design, perform analysis, build, integrate, and test AUR hardware. This lead will require close collaboration with Supply Chain for material procurement and SETC as the end item user. Responsibilities will also include management of AUR suppliers in both technical and cost/schedule parameters. The role requires execution expertise coupled with the ability to lead a high visibility development program. The AUR IPTL role requires proactive and effective collaboration and communication across the program, with members of the Chief Technologist Pyramids and technical subject matter experts, with the Program Management Office, and with the appropriate Customer stakeholders. This is an onsite role in Tucson, AZ.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in task leadership and AUR design, analysis, build, integration, test, and HAR process.
  • Experience in Airframe design, integration, assembly, test, checkout and/or production.
  • Experience in primary and secondary structures for missiles or similar application.
  • Experience with Electro-mechanical integration and system level V&V.
  • Experience using program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and Risk and Opportunity Management to identify issues and develop recommended courses of action to management
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date, with the ability to obtain additional clearances after day 1.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Cost and schedule responsibilities for the IPT and sub-tier suppliers.
  • Report business metrics to both the program and functional leadership including Estimates At Complete (EAC)
  • Ability to provide the technical execution leadership required to design, develop, integrate & test, verify, qualify and deliver an AUR that complies with performance requirements and Design To Cost targets.
  • Ability to communicate both to the Raytheon leadership and the customer community to provide program status, accomplishments, issues, and help needed.
  • Strong prime material procurement experience including knowledge of material planning
  • Develop and maintain a mechanical drawing execution strategy and metrics reporting
  • Work under minimal supervision often in a project management role over entire AUR within this effort.
  • Strong ability to direct and review the work of others is required.
  • Actively work to identify, manage, and mitigate risks or capture opportunities.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to all team members.
  • Extensive experience in task leadership and AUR design, analysis, build, integration, test, and HAR process.
