All Areas Caregivers for Adults with Cognitive and Developmental Support Needs
About The Position
At BrightStar Care, we are dedicated to providing a higher standard of care and support to individuals with intellectual, developmental and cognitive disabilities. Our team is committed to fostering a compassionate and inclusive environment where every individual can thrive. We are currently seeking dedicated and empathetic caregivers to join our growing team in Santa Barbara County and West Ventura County. As a caregiver, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients and you may also be offered shifts with clients outside of these demographics. Shifts are available throughout Santa Barbara County and West Ventura County, with the greatest need in the Goleta, Santa Barbara and Carpinteria areas.
Requirements
- 18yrs of age or older
- 6mos. previous experience in caregiving or a related field.
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
- Valid driver’s license and insured, reliable vehicle.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with adults of all ages with cognitive and developmental support needs preferred
Responsibilities
- Assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
- Providing companionship and emotional support.
- Giving medication reminders and keeping an eye on health and safety.
- Supporting clients in participating in community activities and social events.
- Following personalized care plans as and documenting via detailed shift notes and task records.
