This role is in support of the Japanese Air Self Defense Force in Misawa, Japan. We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to work on the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Autonomic Logistics Information Systems (ALIS). Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program clearance required for program access. The selected candidate may be required to work at deployed CONUS/OCONUS locations, support rotating shifts, and work over 40 hours per week—which may include weekends—as dictated by mission requirements.

Requirements

  • Currently hold DoD IAT Level II certification (Security+, CySA+, or CCNA)
  • Must have 5 years of database experience in F-35 Autonomic Logistics Information System
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SQL language and syntax
  • Currently hold a valid US Passport
  • Currently hold a valid Driver's license
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent level of job related experience
  • Master Craftsman in at least one individual Multi-Function Admin discipline - preferably DBA
  • Disaster Recovery Experience: backup and restoration of physical servers, virtual machines, databases and network equipment
  • JBOSS (WildFly) Application Server Familiarity
  • Experience with installing Oracle Critical Patches, reviewing tables and DBA views for issues, and locating user session data
  • Military Flight Operations & Planning Processes familiarity
  • Experience with maintaining/upgrading system hardware, startup/shutdown of rack components and prepare all associated equipment for deployed operations
  • Experience with applying updates, anti-virus/anti-spyware updates, and patch updates
  • Familiarity with Lockheed Martin products and processes, to include the JSF ALIS hardware and software
  • Previous experience working with a foreign military customer

Responsibilities

  • Interacting daily with users and ALIS/LM leadership
  • Support F-35 Maintenance personnel with ALIS system and identify/resolve system shortfalls
  • System/database/software/firewall/account maintenance and monitoring
  • Maintaining smooth, secure operation of multi-user computer systems through coordination with peers, Tier2 and engineers
  • Importing/Exporting large data volumes
  • Regular monitoring of systems/applications for availability and performance
  • Training ALIS Administrators or Mission Planning Environment Administrator and users on the ALIS system as needed
