About The Position

In-person Algebra Tutors will work Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM . On Tuesdays and Thursdays, tutors will provide Algebra support to students in grades 9–12 at the high school from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM , travel to the shelter from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM , and continue in-person tutoring at the shelter from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM . On Saturdays, tutors will be stationed exclusively at the shelter from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM , providing Algebra support throughout the day.

Requirements

  • Passion for Learning: Committed to supporting academic and personal success, especially for underserved students.
  • Strong Academics: Degree-seeking student or graduate with a minimum 3.0 GPA in Education or a relevant field.
  • Committed and Flexible: Available to work 10-35 hours per week at an assigned school and participate in monthly training.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Ready to work closely with teachers, school leaders, and fellow tutors to maximize student success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in Math
  • Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to develop engaging, personalized learning strategies
  • Bridge language gaps to ensure every student has the support they need
