Alarm Monitor Dispatch Operators (AMDO) provide a variety of dispatch services for the Center for Disaster Preparedness contract. This role ensures compliance with the contract SOW: orders, policies, procedures, and operations. The AMDO monitors and takes the appropriate response to the campus electronic security systems and building automation systems, including access control, intrusion detection, fire alarm, video surveillance, building utilities, and elevator monitoring. The position also involves receiving calls via radio and telephone, dispatching security personnel, and reporting discrepancies for corrective action as needed. Additionally, the AMDO is responsible for issuing and accounting for keys and locks, making notifications to key members of the CDP staff and external support agencies (fire, police department), and preparing, generating, distributing, and filing the daily security staff journal on each shift. Troubleshooting and correcting electronic security system malfunctions as needed is also part of the job. The AMDO must maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform other duties as assigned.
