The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is proud to offer paid summer internships for Reporting interns. These internships provide hands-on experience in a fast-paced, modern newsroom serving audiences across Atlanta, Georgia, and the South. Program Details 12-week program, mid-May through early August 2026 In-office, based in our Midtown office in Atlanta Interns should expect to work the Fourth of July weekend and occasional additional weekends Internships are temporary positions; no full-time employment is guaranteed Eligibility Rising college junior, senior, or graduate student We also accept applicants who have graduated within six months of the internship start Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without current or future sponsorship Application Materials Please submit the following materials: Resume Cover letter, including: Which internship you’re applying for (Reporting or Photojournalism) For Reporting intern candidates: Specify which coverage area you’re most interested in (business, politics, opinion, metro/state, investigative, lifestyle, Black culture, or sports) Short statement (about 300 words) on why you want to pursue journalism How an AJC internship supports your goals Three links, PDFs or samples of your work Two references with contact information Reporting Intern Reporting interns join one of AJC’s newsroom teams, including business, politics, opinion, metro/state, investigative, lifestyle, Black culture, or sports. Interns work as contributing reporters. You’ll pitch ideas, report independently, write on deadline, and collaborate with editors, visuals, and audience teams. This role is ideal for students who want real newsroom experience and are excited to grow as digital-first journalists.
