About The Position

The Aisles Online Clerk is responsible for completing supplementary tasks to aid in providing the best service possible to online shoppers. This includes handling tasks such as bagging, organizing, tendering, and gathering online orders. The role requires a commitment to the Hy-Vee Mission and a willingness to promote the company's values. Key competencies include a growth mindset, results orientation, customer focus, and professionalism. The ideal candidate will possess good verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to relate to and interact with people in a friendly, professional manner. They should be able to identify problems, develop and execute solutions, and possess the ability to substitute products for customers upon request and unavailability. The position demands someone well-organized, able to multi-task, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and to address them by name whenever possible.
• Assists customers by: Escorting them to the products they are looking for.
• Assists customers by: Securing products that are out of reach.
• Assists customers by: Loading or unloading heavy items.
• Assists customers by: Making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests.
• Assists customers by: Performing other tasks in every way possible to enhance the shopping experience.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
• Selects, scans, and bags items from all temperature zones.
• Tenders customer orders through POS and charge the customer’s credit card.
• Upon gathering orders, place in storage at proper temperature and promptly retrieve from storage prior to customer’s arrival.
• Ensures products maintain proper temperature through the entire process.
• Cart to and place in holding area for pick-up.
• Adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
• Lift, carry, and load groceries into customer vehicle.
• Continually monitors incoming online orders to ensure prompt, on-time fulfillment.
• Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
