About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking an Associate (Level 2) or Mid-level (Level 3) Systems Engineer (Regulatory Compliance) to join the P‑8 Program Airworthiness & Certification Team in Tukwila, WA. This role supports airworthiness certification, continued airworthiness, and regulatory compliance for the P‑8 Poseidon program for the U.S. Navy and allied military customers. You will work across engineering, test, suppliers, and government stakeholders to ensure certification requirements are integrated into design, verification, and sustainment activities. Position Overview: Lead and execute systems engineering activities to support type/platform certification and continued airworthiness for a military aircraft program. Collaborate with NAVAIR and the FAA (as applicable), government customers, and internal stakeholders to define and close certification actions. Translate regulatory, contractual, and customer airworthiness requirements into engineering and verification tasks. Participate in design reviews, test planning, test execution oversight, and analysis to demonstrate compliance with airworthiness regulations (e.g., MIL‑HDBK‑516, 14 CFR, or comparable). Develop, review and manage certification artifacts: compliance matrices, certification plans, airworthiness cases, reports, and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM) materials. Coordinate cross‑IPT activities to ensure requirements traceability and that certification inputs are integrated into system design and verification. Create and maintain supplier requirements and oversee supplier deliverables related to certification. Support change management, risk identification/mitigation, and resolution of technical issues affecting certification or sustainment. Communicate status, risks, and recommendations concisely to program leadership, engineers, suppliers, and customers. Mentor junior engineers and lead small technical efforts or workstreams as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Level 2: 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Experience analyzing and presenting data
  • Experience in a role developing, leading, and executing projects and utilizing project processes / skills
  • Aircraft Certification experience
  • Experience do you have in customer relationship development, promoting long term account plans, and growing trusting relationships
  • Experience with the commercial airplanes certification process
  • Experience do you have working in one or more of the follow aircraft systems: fuel, fire detection and extinguishment, hydraulics, environmental controls, mechanical flight controls, landing gear
