About The Position

The Airworthiness Engineer at Bell Textron is responsible for ensuring compliance with military airworthiness requirements for various aircraft programs. This role involves managing airworthiness certification processes, collaborating with military authorities, and mentoring junior engineers. The position is integral to the lifecycle of military aviation products, focusing on safety and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Aeronautical Science is required.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in military airworthiness qualification programs or civil certification programs.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both verbal and written) are required.
  • Ability to prioritize work, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a team player mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Military airworthiness qualification/certification and/or flight/component test experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and accomplish highly complex and challenging projects across multiple aircraft systems, disciplines, and program phases.
  • Build professional relationships with the military program team and the military airworthiness authority through direct interaction on significant technical matters.
  • Evaluate standard qualification rules and guidance material to assist Integrated Product Teams in developing the Qualification/Certification Basis and Means of Compliance.
  • Manage and maintain military qualification/certification airworthiness artifacts and deliverables throughout the product life cycle.
  • Mentor, coach, and act as a role model to less knowledgeable or less experienced engineers.
  • Facilitate meetings and provide required briefings and/or technical presentations to manufacturers, professional organizations, customers, and airworthiness agencies.
