About The Position

To provide safe, effective airspace scheduling in support of operations within the Volk Field Airspace Complex.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 10 years’ experience performing essential duties and responsibilities described above.
  • Military Airspace Data Entry (MADE)/Special Use Airspace Management System (SAMS)
  • SECRET Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Schedules and monitors military flight activities within special use airspace, VR routes and restricted areas.
  • Interfaces with multi- governmental agencies to coordinate real time issues for successful mission outcomes.
  • Maintain safe, effective airspace scheduling and monitoring services in support of operations at Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC).
  • Familiarization with NIPRNet network and comply with all Air Force security and training requirements to be granted access to the Air Force NIPRNet networks as required.
  • Facilitate all message traffic between users, ANGB functional areas and the FAA.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the most current USAF and FAA requirements for compliant Airspace Monitor and Scheduling operations.
  • Assist the Airspace Manager with certain functions, including but not limited to, processing airspace actions, Letter of Agreement (LOA) revision, supersonic operations, airspace reports, Military Training Route (MTR) evaluations, and obstruction evaluations.
  • Understand the Center Scheduling Enterprise (CSE) system to generate airspace reports, schedule airspace activity, modify mission status, approve new user accounts, update user permissions, submit airspace to the FAA, modify existing airspace requests, complete mission utilization, update system news, and add required documents to the homepage.
  • Know the Military Airspace Data Entry (MADE)/Special Use Airspace Management System (SAMS) to create new schedules, modify existing schedules, change airspace status, and create airspace groups.
  • Release airspace to scheduled users no later than one hour to their scheduled activity.
  • Release airspace to the FAA when no longer required for mission use.
  • Notify base agencies such as RAPCON, Range personnel, Airfield Management, etc. when the status of a mission changes or is cancelled.
  • Notify military users when non-military aircraft enter the Military Operating Areas and a potential conflict to military operations is present.
  • Advise aircraft of potential factor traffic using Bearing, Range, indicated Altitude, and apparent Heading before reaching 10 miles separation from military aircraft using the Volk airspace.
  • Relay airspace changes from the FAA to military users no later than 5 min after receiving the change from the FAA using the most expedient means possible.
  • Maintain awareness of airfield, weather, or other conditions that may present a potential hazard or consideration for military aircraft operating in the Volk airspace.
  • Coordinate with military scheduling agencies to resolve airspace and range conflicts no later than one week prior to the scheduled activity.
  • Coordinate with Range personnel to determine available support for requested military Range activity.
  • Maintain physical and electronic records of airspace utilization.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • All other Duties as assigned.
