About The Position

ServiceTec, the leading independent provider of managed IT services to the aviation industry, is hiring an on-call Airport Technical Support Technician at Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) Airport in Illinois. If you're looking for a flexible, hands-on role with variety and real impact, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! We’re seeking an on-call Airport Technical Support Technician to provide on-site support for automated Self-Serve Bag Drop machines used by airline customers at ORD. The role involves physical maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting using hand tools. Responsibilities include responding to incidents as they arise as well as performing bi-weekly preventative maintenance visits (2-3 hours/visit) to inspect and service the machines, ensuring they remain fully operational. Training will be provided, and airport parking fees are reimbursed. You’ll be paid hourly for all on-site work and required to complete a checklist report after each maintenance visit.

Requirements

  • Minimum knowledge of computer hardware and Windows-based platforms.
  • Possesses some knowledge of and diagnostic abilities with IT hardware and software.
  • Familiar with desktop/laptop/tablet configuration and repair.
  • Ability to independently analyze and solve routine computer related problems.
  • Ability to read a variety of informational documentation, directions, instructions, methods and procedures.
  • Ability to complete maintenance and incident checklist and written reports.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma and/or two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • Competent in using computers and some computer hardware repair.
  • Competent in hands-on mechanical repair.
  • Documented experience in superior customer service delivery.
  • Personable and able to work independently.
  • Able to establish and maintain good working relationships and communication with decision makers, stakeholders, department heads and end-users.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities
