About The Position

The Sky captain positions assist in communicating policies and procedures within their operation. Sky captains assist with directing and coordinating activities to provide a safe environment for employees while maintaining fast and efficient services. This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with time constraints to meet arrival and departure goals. A professional and positive image must be consistently displayed by the employee.

Requirements

• Ability to navigate electronic devices (computers, fax machines, printers, timeclock, etc.)
• A proven track record in supervising a business unit
• Experience in operational planning and resource allocation
• Experience and understanding of commercial issues in aviation
• Must have a High School diploma, GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Capable of processing information in a timely manner
• Must have and maintain a Valid Driver's License
• Able to proficiently speak, read, and write in English
• Basic computer literacy
• Previous ramp or airline experience
• Must successfully complete all training requirements and maintain certifications throughout employment
• Must clear an FBI fingerprint background check

Responsibilities

• Sky captains must report to work on a regular and timely basis
• Oversee Skycap Agents operation
• Able to greet and assist all customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner
• Must be able to lift and carry items up to 100 lbs, lift luggage onto or from a conveyor belt, and push wheelchairs containing an adult
• Ensure employees are in compliance with uniform, appearance, and personnel protective equipment policies (shaving, uniform cleanliness, and jewelry)
• Perform any reasonable customer service related job duty requested by Company leadership and/or airline customer
• Able to stand and work in one location for up to four hours at a time
• Conduct and/or assist with shift briefings and/or pre-arrival/departure briefings for each flight
• Work independently without direct supervision
• Other duties as assigned
