About The Position

The Airport Police & Fire Officer 6 (Chief) at Anchorage International Airport is responsible for managing all police and fire services at the airport. This role involves enforcing laws, ensuring public safety, strategic planning, policy development, and emergency response coordination. The Chief will lead a public safety department, manage budgets, and coordinate with various law enforcement and fire partners. This position is integral to maintaining compliance with federal regulations and represents the department in interactions with airport components and other agencies.

Requirements

• Possession of an active police officer certificate issued by the Alaska Police Standards Council or reciprocal eligibility.
• Three years of experience as an Airport Police & Fire Officer 4 or 5 with the State of Alaska, or six years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience with four years at the supervisory command level.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and at least 21 years of age within one year of hire.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• AAAE Certified Member.
• Airport Master Firefighter certification.
• Alaska Police Standards Council Advanced Police Officer certification.
