Overview Join us as an Airport Planning Intern and gain hands-on experience supporting a variety of airport planning and development projects. In this role, you will work closely with an experienced Project Manager and other team members to assist in planning, design, technical analysis, and reporting. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to real-world airport projects, both in the office and occasionally onsite, while developing valuable skills in aviation planning and project delivery.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing an aviation-related, civil engineering, or planning degree
  • Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, site visits, or client consultations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and willingness to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Zero (0) to three (3) years of experience in the Civil Engineering or Aviation field, including internships or co-ops.
  • Previous experience or training with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word.
  • Prior exposure to engineering, construction, aviation operations, or airport planning.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow and support the Project Manager on active airport planning projects.
  • Assist with AutoCAD drafting and layout tasks.
  • Contribute to technical writing, including planning reports and document preparation.
  • Conduct technical research on aviation standards, airspace considerations, airport layout requirements, and related topics.
  • Spend time on construction sites to observe project progress and gain field experience.
  • Participate in project meetings with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and preparation of presentations or planning exhibits.
  • Assist with organizing project documentation, schedules, and deliverables.
