The purpose of this position is to ensure all TSA regulatory requirements are met on each assigned shift. The Airport Operations Supervisor - Security (Badging) responds to TSA inquiries and interacts with TSA investigators, airline supervisors, and Houston Police Department (HPD) Officers and Supervisors. The position will be part of the unified command group during airport emergencies. The position supervises ID badging, access control, permitting, enforcement, and compliance of security functions of William P. Airport according to the Airport Security Program based on TSA regulatory requirements. This includes implementing work plans based on HAS objectives; resolve citizen, operational, and management issues. The Airport Operations Supervisor - Security (Badging) achieves goals, while ensuring resources are utilized appropriately. The position contributes to the safe, secure, and efficient operations of the airport through leadership and management of the airport's security & badging team. The position is operationally and/or functionally focused and is generally responsible for supervising front individual contributors. The purpose of the Security & Badging team at William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), one of three airports that make up the Houston Airport System (HAS), is to use intelligence-led, risk-based operations to enhance airport security, reduce fear, and provide a safe environment to the traveling public. Airport Security & Badging staff-members monitor the badging office, vendors, tenants, airline operators, fixed base operators (FBO's) and commercial business operators (CBO's), air cargo operators, and all HAS departments for compliance with Federal regulations as well as HAS Operating Instructions. The Airport Operations Supervisor - Security (Badging) manages the daily security operations, regulatory compliance, and the badging office to conduct criminal history record checks and ensure compliance with Airport, City of Houston, State and Federal Regulations (CFR 49, 1520 & 1542). Supervise assigned employees, conduct customer interactions to calmly resolve issues, conduct signature authority training classes, have operational oversight and knowledge of utilization of all technology applications. Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to employees who conduct audits, perform inspections and issue airport identification media with the goal of becoming a high-performance organization.
