About The Position
Join the operations team at New England's fastest growing airport! Portland International Jetport is an active Part-139 compliant, commercial service airport, offering incumbent Operations Duty Officers the opportunity to oversee a wide variety of operational responsibilities. Under the direction of the Operations Manager, this position plans, organizes, and supervises airside and landside operations. The Operations Duty Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the airport operates smoothly and safely, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards. The Operations Duty Officer is responsible for monitoring the airport for compliance with Federal, State, and Local Laws. This includes inspecting and monitoring terminal, landside, and tenant leased areas for compliance with rules and regulations and lease terms. The officer will issue NOTAMs for surface closures and condition reporting as appropriate, mitigate wildlife hazards, and respond to emergencies while assisting with the coordination of emergency activities. Additionally, the officer acts as the secondary Airport Security Coordinator while on duty, coordinates airport construction and special events, and maintains communication with the Airport Operations Center. This position also involves coordinating security and driver training of tenants/users, enforcing the Jetport's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), and assisting with updates to the airport's regulatory manuals and plans as needed. The Operations Duty Officer reviews and acts on matters involving safety, security, customer service, certification, and other related matters that impact airlines, tenants, and passengers. Furthermore, the officer may actively participate during certification inspections and interact with Federal Inspectors and senior airport management. This position operates on a rotating 24/7 schedule to maintain continuity of operations and requires working outdoors as well as in the office environment.
