About The Position

The Airport Manager is responsible for the administration and management of the Pierre Regional Airport, ensuring compliance with FAA and TSA regulations. This role involves directing airport operations, overseeing maintenance, managing budgets, and acting as a liaison with various regulatory bodies. The position also includes responsibilities related to airport planning, tenant relations, and security coordination.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in airport management or a related field.
• C.M. accreditation from AAAE or a pilot license.
• Minimum two years of progressive experience in airport operations and management, or a combination of experience and an advanced related degree, with preference for Part 139 management experience.
• Good computer skills and fluency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all FAA and TSA rules and regulations.
• Act as a liaison with FAA, TSA, and DOT.
• Direct the operations of the airport fire rescue unit.
• Formulate, recommend, and implement policies related to federal and state aviation programs.
• Oversee airport planning and administer the airport's Capital Improvement Plan.
• Manage airport leases and work with tenants on construction activities and development.
• Act as Airport Security Coordinator.
• Inspect, report, and remedy operational deficiencies.
• Oversee the maintenance of runways, taxiways, and ramps, including snow and ice removal.
• Develop and monitor the department budget.
• Oversee the purchase of supplies and equipment.
