About The Position

The Airport Emergency Operations Manager at Tampa International Airport (TPA) is responsible for leading and implementing emergency and contingency planning programs for the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority (HCAA). This role involves coordinating emergency management, disaster operations, and business continuity planning, while ensuring compliance with FAA and other regulatory requirements. The manager will support the Incident Commander during activations, conduct operational drills, and collaborate with various stakeholders to maintain and enhance emergency plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in emergency management or a related field.
  • Five years of experience in emergency management roles with specific responsibilities.
  • Two years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Two years of experience in aviation preferred.
  • Certificate of completion from FEMA for NIMS training, including ICS 400.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) with the International Association of Emergency Managers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the TPA Airport Emergency Plan (AEP) per FAA requirements, including training, audits, drills, and exercises.
  • Support the TPA Risk Management Team in developing and updating effective business continuity plans.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for TPA emergency preparedness and management, designing and evaluating emergency response plans.
  • Analyze and evaluate emergency plans across TPA departments to ensure they meet organizational needs.
  • Design, coordinate, and facilitate exercise scenarios and training programs for employees regarding their roles in emergency response.
  • Collaborate with HCAA departments, tenants, and local agencies for preparedness and response efforts.
  • Lead the FAA Part 139 Annual AEP Review and Tri-Annual Full Scale Exercise.
  • Operate and maintain the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during emergency events, providing leadership and communication support.
  • Ensure appropriate tracking, reporting, and documentation of emergency events.
