About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) division is seeking an Airplane Systems Senior Manager in support of B-52J development and other B-1 and B-52 engineering activities, located in Oklahoma City, OK. The Airplane Systems Team is heavily involved in the B-52J development scope including the commercial engine replacement program (CERP) and a Radar Modernization Program (RMP) as well as B-1 and other B-52 design and support activity. This involves upgrades and changes to the Electrical Power Subsystems, Mechanical Systems, Hydraulics, and Environmental Control Systems. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with Mechanical or Electronic systems
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role, leading teams or projects to successful completion
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Leads employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in procurement, technical subcontract management, development, integration, testing, and certification.
  • Develops and executes plans in accordance with organizational processes and procedures.
  • Develops estimates to support contract proposal activities.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers.
  • Provides Coaching, mentoring and developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance.
  • Supports the Airplane Systems Capability to improve productivity, define design practices, monitor engineering metrics, lead innovation, and maintain a skilled workforce and the tools necessary to meet program objectives.
