About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) division is seeking an Airplane Systems First-Level Manager in support of Hydraulics and Mechanical Controls design activities on the B-52J development and other Bombers Sustainment programs, located in Oklahoma City, OK. The Hydraulics and Mechanical Controls team is heavily involved in the B-52J development scope including the commercial engine replacement program (CERP) and a Radar Modernization Program (RMP).

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science from an accredited course of study, in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in aircraft mechanical systems (Environmental Control Systems, hydraulics, fuels, controls).
  • 1+ years of experience as a team lead.

  • Experience with FAA and Military Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Leads employees performing engineering and technical activities in procurement, technical subcontract management, development, integration, testing, and certification.
  • Develops and executes plans in accordance with organizational processes and procedures.
  • Develops estimates to support contract proposal activities.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Manages, develops, and motivates employees.
  • Provides coaching, mentoring and developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance.
  • Supports the Airplane Systems Capability to improve productivity, define design practices, monitor engineering metrics, lead innovation, and maintain a skilled workforce and the tools necessary to meet program objectives.
