About The Position

The Airline Safety Supervisor – Emergency Response assists in the implementation, coordination, and maintenance of the airline’s Emergency Response Program in alignment with established standards, regulatory requirements, and business needs. Reporting to the Emergency Response Manager, this position supports emergency response training, vendor-coordination, drills, and readiness activities across all operational gateways. This role works closely with the Family Assistance Support Team (FAST) and supports coordination with external agencies, including the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), to ensure integrated response readiness. The position supports emergency activations and assists in execution of response activities in the event of Airline accidents or incidents.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel as needed, including extended overnight travel.
  • Strong coordination, organizational, and follow‑through skills.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation abilities.
  • Proven capability to perform effectively in time‑sensitive and high‑pressure environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Airline industry experience required. Candidates must demonstrate working knowledge of airline operational environments, terminology, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in emergency response, crisis management, or aviation safety.
  • Background coordinating training logistics or working with external vendors.
  • Experience engaging with external agencies or regulatory partners.
  • Knowledge of aviation safety processes, including Safety Management Systems (SMS) under 14 CFR Part 5.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Emergency Response Manager with implementation and ongoing execution of the Airline Emergency Response Program
  • Coordinates logistics and scheduling for vendor-supplied services and training under program direction
  • Coordinates required initial and recurrent training for HQ Emergency Response Teams and Go Teams
  • Assists in planning, coordination, and evaluation of annual emergency response drills and exercises
  • Supports coordination with the Family Assistance Support Team (FAST) to ensure alignment of planning, training, and response activities
  • Assists with coordination and communication with external agencies, including the NTSB, as directed
  • Travels to gateways and operational locations to support emergency response readiness assessments and validate local plans
  • Works with gateway leadership to identify preparedness gaps and elevate findings to program leadership
  • Assists with maintaining Airline Emergency Response Manual, documentation, training records, drill results, and after-action materials
  • Responds to internal inquiries related to emergency response preparedness, training, and procedures
  • Collaborates with Safety, Operations, Security, Communications, HR, FAST, and other stakeholders to support coordinated response efforts
