About The Position

The Airline Ground Handling Agent is responsible for various tasks related to aircraft ground operations. This includes guiding inbound and outbound airplanes, safely handling and transporting baggage, mail, and cargo, and protecting equipment from damage and weather. The role also involves operating heavy ground equipment and assisting with record-keeping to ensure correct baggage routing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Stable job history
• Physically able to perform frequent walking, stretching, bending, sitting, stooping, reaching, and grasping actions
• Repeatedly lift 50 pounds or more

Responsibilities

• Work in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, and heat
• Guide inbound/outbound airplanes to and from the gate without damage or injury
• Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from the aircraft and airport
• Protect baggage and other equipment from damage, loss, and weather conditions
• Drive and operate heavy ground equipment, such as tugs, cargo carts, service trucks, and belt loaders
• Assist with record-keeping and documentation to ensure the correct routing of baggage
• Sort and stack baggage on specified carts, conveyors, or screening machines
• Safely transport baggage on carts in specified areas
