Airframe Structural Design Engineer - Level 2
About The Position
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full-time Airframe Structures Design Engineer for the Advanced Development Programs (ADP) in Palmdale, California. A successful candidate will apply technical expertise in developing solutions to aircraft structural design problems. Responsibilities for this position may include: - Creation and/or modification of primary and secondary structural parts, assemblies, installations, and interface control models/documents. - Contributing to developing, testing, and validating aircraft structural designs. - Assisting in creating system requirements, trade studies, statements of work, and test plans. - Coordination with internal Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), with some interaction with external IPTs and suppliers. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering
- Experience with 3DX, CATIA, Solidworks, or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool
- Experience creating and/or modifying drawings
- Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with 3DX or CATIA V5
- Experience in detailed design of composite and metallic structures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
