About The Position

Aerometals is looking to add the following position: Airframe Assembler – Journeyman Pay range: $28 - $37 hourly sign on bonus eligible for journeyman Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:30pm & Friday 7:00am - 12:00pm The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to: Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners. Rivet structural assemblies and parts using riveting guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, etc. Utilize blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine sequence of operations, type size for rivets, and hole patterns. Apply sealants, adhesives, and solvents per customer specifications by using proper safety devices. Perform layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment, or fabricated items. Use fractions, decimal, and mathematical formulas to solve dimensional problems. Cut, trim, and file parts while verifying fitting tolerances to prepare for installation. Fasten, support, and/or hang components and subassemblies. Remove fasteners without damaging structures. Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications using measuring tools. Identify product defects and communicate errors to appropriate personnel. Collaborate with engineers to complete research and development work. Make tooling as needed. Bag and tag finished products. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to complete close tolerance work.
  • Mechanically inclined with good manual dexterity.
  • Familiarity with drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • 3+ years in structural assembly - 5+ years for journeyman level.
