The Aircraft Worker is responsible for performing pre/post-operational checks, fueling, and operation of aircraft and support equipment, including conditional/scheduled inspections and periodic maintenance. Key tasks involve aircraft movement, fuel/defuel operations, rotor system tie-down, blade restraint installation/uninstallation, securing aircraft and blades, servicing aircraft/engines/transmissions, and directing maintenance turns. The role also includes providing aircraft movement/direction and fire guard services during ground and flight operations, launching and recovering aircraft, and performing helicopter landing signal services. Workers must be familiar with maintenance instruction manuals, standard aircraft handling and taxi procedures, NATOPS, specific aircraft manuals, and local regulations. They are also tasked with detecting corrosion, performing pre-operational checks and maintenance on support equipment, operating ground support equipment, checking for fuel contamination, replenishing fluids (fuel, oil, water, waste system chemicals, oxygen, hydraulic fluid), and cleaning aircraft. Additional duties include maintaining shop housekeeping, participating in the FOD program, handling and disposing of hazmat, complying with safety regulations, and obtaining necessary support equipment licenses.
