About The Position

Repairs, maintains, and inspects aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment under the technical direction of an Aircraft Mechanic, Aircraft Mechanic (Senior) or Lead. Removes and installs aircraft components. Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems. Special certifications may be required. May be required to adjust, align, and rig aircraft systems. May be required to perform aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations. Inspects and identifies aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair. May be required to perform crash recovery duties. Required to perform assigned tasks within your work center that directly supports necessary functions of this job classification.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the principles applying to aircraft systems, maintenance directives, and data reporting.
  • Knowledge of Air Force supply and deficiency reporting procedures.
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste and materials handling.
  • Knowledge of MIS (CAMS/IMDS) and desktop computer operations.
  • Completion of high school with courses in mathematics is desirable.
  • Completion of a basic applicable aircraft maintenance course is mandatory.
  • Qualification as Aircraft Worker is mandatory.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in installing, inspecting, repairing, or overhauling aircraft structures, systems, and components is mandatory.
  • Must have held a 2A6X4 (Fuels) Air Force Specialty Code or civilian/sister service equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of four years documented experience on F-15s and/or F-16s.
  • SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED.
