AVTECH Global is looking for an Upholstery Tech I in Dallas, TX. This is a full-time, contract position with a duration of 12 months, with the opportunity for extension. The role involves fabricating and installing upholstery for aircraft interiors under moderate supervision, using design and engineering drawings as well as aircraft specifications.

  • Perform technical upholstery functions within design, customer, FAA, and aircraft specifications.
  • Complete specific installation and trim tasks in compliance with work order instructions and specifications.
  • Fit panels and windows, cabin head liners, upper sidewalls, lower side panels, hatch panels, and windows.
  • Cut and surge carpets, cover bulkheads, fabricate various metal parts, and install panels.
  • Create carpet patterns per design drawings and complete installation.
  • Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Entry level position.
  • Experience using commercial sewing machines, sergers, and/or various hand tools used in upholstery and carpet trades is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand proficiently the English language.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math computations.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
  • Coverage of up to one-half of employee's medical insurance premium for a base plan.
  • Eight (8) paid holidays.
  • Per diem split (if qualified).
  • Three (3) sets of uniforms (if applicable).
  • Opportunity to become a direct hire after ninety (90) days.
