About The Position

Airbus Helicopters is looking for an Aircraft Technician (Mechanical) to join our New Helicopter Completions (NHC) team based in Columbus, MS. This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America. You will be part of the team to perform mechanical work on assigned aircraft. Your working environment: On the eastern border of Mississippi you’ll find Columbus, home to our Helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and Center of Excellence for the entire North America region. It’s here that we produce the UH-72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army in addition to the H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers. Your challenges: Perform fabrication, assembly, installation, repair, replacement, adjustment, and alignment of parts and components. Perform work from three-dimensional blueprints, sketches, diagrams, technical manuals, work orders, inspection reports, and other similar documentation. Perform normal troubleshooting to diagnose malfunction or failures on aircraft systems such as Aircraft Equipment Furnishings, Fuel Systems, Hydraulics, Landing Gear, Stabilizers, etc. Familiarity with and the ability to use common aviation type tooling

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years of related aviation experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and diagrams, and apply standard shop practices in the fabrication and repair modifications of aircraft structures and repairs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form in English
  • Must be a US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license)

Nice To Haves

  • Current Airframe or Powerplant license is a plus but not required.
