About The Position

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH) is looking for an Aircraft Sustainment / Liaison Engineer for various locations including Oklahoma City, OK; Farfield, CA; Wichita, KS; Altus, OK; Portsmouth, NH; Trenton, NJ; and Goldsboro, NC. The Liaison Engineer will support line maintenance and heavy maintenance depot operations at US Air Force bases.

Requirements

• BS Degree (or higher) in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
• Two plus (2+) years in specific technical discipline.
• Ability to perform structural analysis to substantiate repairs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, conscientious, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of FARs, FAA policies, and vendor manuals (AMM, IPC, CMM).
• Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule to meet internal customer's needs.
• Ability to pass a Tier 1 (minimum) Investigation for work on Department of Defense contracts.
• Existing security clearance is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Aircraft/airline/MRO aviation engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical dispositions and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits for structural damage including sheet metal and composite repairs.
• Performing structural analysis as needed.
• Providing work deviation authorization and interpretation of service documents & Technical Orders.
• Offering options for repairing versus replacing a part to minimize financial impact.
• Assisting with aircraft system troubleshooting.
• Attending regular production meetings to ensure timely support.
• Providing on-site engineering assistance for significantly damaged aircraft as required.
• Coordinating events/issues with USAF Program Office for additional action, troubleshooting, and follow-up.
• Monitoring trends and recurring discrepancies requiring corrective action.
• Developing Typical Repairs and manual supplements to eliminate repetitive Engineering Technical Assistance Requests (ETARs).
• Authoring policies and processes to ensure general compliance with FAA regulations.
