About The Position

THOR Solutions is actively seeking a mid-level Aircraft Support Analyst to support the U.S. Navy’s Ship Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Readiness and Effectiveness Measuring (SHAREM) program at the Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) in San Diego, CA. The SHAREM program assesses the readiness and effectiveness of sensors, systems, weapons, and countermeasures employed by individual and groups of platforms to meet specified objectives in tactically and operationally relevant environments. An ideal candidate will have a background in Undersea Warfare (USW) aircraft operations and warfare tasks as well as planning exercise activities for Navy fixed and rotary wing aircraft.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least ten (10) years of U.S. Navy experience relating to Undersea Warfare (USW) aircraft operations and warfare tasks.
  • At least three (3) years of experience planning exercise activities including Navy fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
  • Briefing and debriefing aircrews on exercise event plans and mission results.
  • Navy aircraft data collection, mission data extraction, and post mission analysis.
  • Capability for preparation of briefings, reports, and correspondence that are technically correct.
  • Proficient with common productivity software, including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate must already possess an active or interim security clearance. A candidate with especially strong, relevant experience but no active security clearance may still be considered, but work start would be dependent upon a new Secret clearance being awarded.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate objectives, plans, and logistics with external Navy operational staffs, Navy Warfare Centers, and range facilities.
  • Develop test and data collection plans.
  • Develop and deliver planning conference briefs.
  • Draft naval messages.
  • Observe and collect required data/logs from aircraft participating in exercises.
  • Use pertinent data to reconstruct aircraft engagements during exercises.
  • Assess the performance of airborne detection systems based on exercise data.
  • Coordinate the assembly, installation, interfacing, removal and system restoration, repair, and testing of tracking equipment used during exercises.
  • Interpret schematics and resolves issues associated with the installation, removal, interfacing, repair, modification and testing of tracking equipment used during exercises.
  • Ensure proper restoration and operation of pertinent shipboard equipment following removal of tracking equipment.
  • Write after action reports and reconstruction and analysis reports that communicate exercise results with respect to discrete objectives, to representatives of naval commands, engineering labs, and program offices.
