About The Position

The Aircraft Structures Technician role involves performing structural repairs on aircraft using sheet metal and composite materials. The technician will be responsible for reading blueprints, modifying or fabricating parts, and ensuring compliance with FAA regulations during inspections and repairs. Requirements

  • 5-7 years of aviation experience.
  • Ability to follow instructions to perform structural repairs using sheet metal and composite materials.
  • Demonstrated understanding of reading blueprints to modify or fabricate new parts.
  • Experience performing inspections, repairs, services, and modifications according to FAA regulations and standards.
  • Capability to perform scheduled and special inspections, service systems, and assemble parts.
  • Proficiency in determining malfunctions using standard tests and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to document work performed using a computer.
  • Understanding of AS9100 regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with repairs of helicopter dynamic components is a plus.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and special inspections, correct discrepancies, service systems, adjust, repair or replace parts and/or assemble as authorized and assigned.
  • Determine malfunctions by performing standard tests and inspections using common and diagnostic test equipment.
  • Remove, inspect, assemble and install major helicopter components, parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies.
  • Remove, disassemble, inspect, repair or replace, assemble and install airframe parts and assemblies; inspect, remove, repair or replace and assemble engine, hydraulic, electrical, fuel, and ambient systems.
  • Service any and all aircraft systems, support towing, parking, mooring, and storage of aircraft as required.
  • Wash, clean, and prepare aircraft for customer delivery if required.
  • Perform and maintain paperwork on jobs performed, materials used, tasks completed, and time spent.
  • Provide on-the-job training for co-workers as assigned.
  • Be available and qualified to travel as assigned by the Operations Director to perform routine, preventive, or corrective maintenance, and support company or customer-owned aircraft.
  • Work a 4-day/10-hour shift from 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM if required.
  • Support the shop with component wrapping/unwrapping/crating/uncrating.
  • Document work performed using a computer.
  • Follow FOD (Foreign Object Debris) inspection criteria to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
