Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance
  • 4+ years working with non-porous metals (aluminum, titanium, stainless steel)
  • 4+ years interpreting schematics, assembly drawings, specifications, and SOPs
  • 4+ years using aircraft structures hand tools (45°/90° drills, pancake adapters, countersink cages, hole finders, rivet guns)
  • 4+ years performing heavy aircraft structural work (locating, drilling, countersinking, fastening doublers, stringers, webs, seat tracks, etc.)
  • Ability to pass training assessment
  • Ability to work variable shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including ladder work, confined spaces, lifting up to 35 lbs (team lift over 50 lbs), and frequent overhead/repetitive motion tasks
  • Ability to pass visual acuity and color perception testing

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with F-15 aircraft
  • Depot-level heavy maintenance experience
  • Experience working with titanium aircraft structures
  • Certified/experienced in operating forklifts, mobile cranes, or powered elevating equipment

Responsibilities

  • Perform close-tolerance drilling, reaming, fastening, removal, and installation on critical support and fracture-critical structures
  • Locate and drill blind holes for structural installations on existing aircraft structures
  • Execute structural repair processes including sealing, painting, shimming, and preservation
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, retrofit instructions, and process specifications
  • Utilize tooling assemblies, fixtures, and depot-level modification equipment
  • Perform heavy structural repairs including installation of doublers, stringers, webs, and seat tracks
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical aircraft components; assess functionality of non-complex electrical systems
  • Operate aircraft-specific precision tools (torque wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes/shears, test equipment)
  • Access aircraft maintenance data systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy reports
  • Follow Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures
  • Comply with FOD (Foreign Object Debris) and site tool control procedures
  • Support cross-functional teams (General Mechanics, Avionics, Electronics) to meet schedule and cost objectives
  • Maintain required certifications, permits, and training qualifications
