Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Aircraft Structures Mechanic Level 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This candidate will support our E-2D Manufacturing and Production Organization. This role will be located on site in Saint Augustine, Florida. This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail, top focus on quality and the ability to interface with multiple teams.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and 6 years' experience with sheet metal structures, hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, manufacturing electrical and/or systems.
• Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working overhead.
• Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
• The ability to pass Medical/Respiratory Exam.
• The ability to work any work schedule and overtime as needed by the business.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret DOD clearance in a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in aerospace manufacturing new production.
• E-2 Experience
• Completion of an A&P certificate program.
• Experience with structural subassemblies such as aircraft production wings, rudders, flaps and stabilizers.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints
• Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include: precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
• Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
• Performing part-fitting operations: filing sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming
• Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
• May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
• Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends
• Assemble and install hydraulic systems.
• Assemble and install fuel lines and electrical harnesses.
• Usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems.
• Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance and team effectiveness.
• Adhere to all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety guidelines and regulations
• Work and communicate over ambient noise
• Work in a variety of work spaces/positions. Work spaces may include but are not limited to small, enclosed spaces, awkward, and elevated spaces. Positions may include bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, ascending/descending ladders, and/or working overhead.
• Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends
