About The Position
The Aircraft Structures Mechanic 3 position involves performing a variety of operations to assemble and create major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, as well as structural subassemblies like rudders, flaps, and stabilizers. The role requires aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures, and performing minor part-fitting operations including filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming. Additionally, the mechanic will measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions, and may modify both incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate structural changes. Monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures may also be part of the responsibilities.
